Bloomberg via Getty ImagesShares of Chinas Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group fell after Hong Kong and Macao revealed Wednesday they were suspending BioNTech Covid vaccinations.Fosun Pharma, BioNTechs partner in the advancement and distribution of the Comirnaty Covid-19 vaccine in higher China, informed the cities of a packaging flaw in batch 210102 of the vaccine.Hong Kong and Macao said they were suspending the German-made vaccinations as a preventive measure.The cities said BioNTech and Fosun Pharma are investigating the cause of the vial cap flaw, including that there is presently no reason to question the safety of the vaccine.Macao stated all of its messenger RNA, or mRNA, vaccines belong to the affected batch. Hong Kong stated it would likewise momentarily suspend vaccinations from batch 210104 till the examination is completed.Hong Kong-listed shares of Fosun Pharma were down 4.83% by Wednesday afternoon in the city.Hong Kong authorized the BioNTech vaccine for emergency usage in January, while Macao approved the vaccine unique import permission in late February.
